About the IMCA

IMCA is an itinerant Independent Museum of Contemporary Art founded by NeMe in order to present exhibitions, performances, new media events, symposia etc. The form of the IMCA is determined as a practice or process by the nature of each project with the notion of the exhibition “space” being constantly revised and redefined.

IMCA is administered by NeMe and it is one of its platforms from which NeMe events are presented. This site lists the events which NeMe either organises or participates in. NeMe was founded in 2004 and is a Cypriot registered, non profit cultural NGO.

We have been active for 8 years and to date we have initiated 12 events, participated in 9 and we also organised and conducted numerous educational workshops for both children and adults.

Participation in our events

IMCA’s itinerant nature gives it a flexibility in both the type of events we organise and the way they are presented. Our exhibitions are always curated and the participants are selected by invitation and/or call for entries. Our archives of artists’ catalogues and submissions are made available to curators and academics who live in or visit Cyprus.

Sponsorship

All NeMe organised activities listed on this website are provided free to the public, so sponsorship is an important source of funding. As a non-profit registered organization in Cyprus, NeMe receives grants and donations from a number of different sources, including government, corporates, small businesses and individuals.

The NeMe websites including all sub-domains in neme.org and neme-imca.org automatically recognize the ip address, the browser version and platform and the referral page of most visitors, but not the e-mail address.

We collect those for statistical purposes and as such a list of top referrers is maintained.
In the case of spam referrers we ban both the IP and the website using server side rules.
The e-mail addresses of those who wish to communicate with us are deleted unless their email requires an answer.
The information we collect is only used to improve the content of this web site and is then discarded.
It is never used not shared with other organizations or individuals for any commercial or other purposes.

Cookies are used in this site for the sole purpose of monitoring the numbers of new and returning visitors.

Colophon

NeMe which includes www.neme.org, neme-imca.org and forum.neme.org is authored using open source software. We use punBB for the forum and the wonderfully versatile Textpattern CMS is used for the rest.
