Goodzilla is a parody of an existing Hollywood ‘hero’, Godzilla. A seemingly random movement of the monster, destroying everything in its path. But its path is not in reality a random one but it is predetermined by its creators. A form of creative power which allows us to dissolve and destroy digitally everything which annoys us in our built urban environment. Be warned! Goodzilla is here. If you ignore what is suppressing you, Goodzilla will get you. If your actions hurt others then you will be punished. Goodzilla is the punisher of the establishment, greed, gluttony, the abuse of power, bad taste and the show off.
The video takes place in ‘digital Limassol’, its characters are hand drawn. It is a mixture of traditional 2d and 3d animation techniques compositing a ‘heavily manipulated’ image of blood and destruction. In contrast, the soundtrack of Louis Armstrong’s “Wonderful World” introduces an intention of irony and comedic tragedy.
