Displacement can be a physical, mental and spiritual condition. When it occurs, it often leaves in its wake a tangible presence. The displaced carry memories of their home, culture, lives – gradually these memories become more and more inaccurate, and what is left is merely a trace. The physical places that they leave behind carry memories also. The abandoned buildings and their courtyards resonate with lives once lived – mirroring the memories of the displaced.
