Title:

Digging tunnels is a good way to travel into the earth and come out at other places. I think it has something to do with displacement because of the void between the point of entry and the point of exit. When you exit it is hard for the mind to grasp that a change in location has occurred because your physical senses have not experienced anything in the void.

It is similar I think to going in a plane when you travel and the disorientation that occurs when you board the plane in a cold weather location and exit it into a warm weather location. Even though you know that you have traveled, the physical body has difficulty reconciling that knowledge with its own experience of sitting in one position for several hours.

About IMCA

IMCA is both a virtual and itinerant Independent Museum of Contemporary Art founded by NeMe in order to present exhibitions, performances, new media events, symposia etc. The form of the IMCA is determined as a practice or process by the nature of each project with the notion of the exhibition "space" being constantly revised and redefined.
